From Heart to Hands – Yoga for Creativity

Greetings creative spirits and welcome to your first lesson in the Hand in Hand mini course! Through my own personal practice I have found that yoga helps me connect with my creative self. Why? Because it asks me to pay attention!

During this sequence of flows you will be asked to pay attention to your breath as you move fluidly on the mat. Empty your mind and let your attention be only on the present moment. Easier said than done I know! When you’re mind starts to wander…come back to the breath and keep going.

The following sequences can be stretched out for as long or as short as you like. Remember to always listen to your body and if a pose doesn’t feel right…please don’t do it!

 

Take Action:

Okay creative warriors! Next time you are faced with a decision you have to make or you are facing the dreaded writer’s block…I want you to STOP paying attention to the dilema you’re in and take your attention to your breath. Notice if bringing your awareness to your breath for a few minutes opens up any space for creative thinking to break through.
